One major topic at ASGCT 2026 was the growing interest in using China's IIT pathway to accelerate early clinical development for CGT programs.

At the CSGCT symposium, many biotech companies asked practical questions such as:
How does China's new 818 framework affect IIT studies?
What data package is needed before approaching top sites and PIs?
How should foreign biotech companies structure IP and data ownership?
What are the real differences between IIT and IND pathways in China?
How can sponsors balance speed, quality, cost, and regulatory expectations?

These are important questions our VP of international operations, Dr. Suling Zhang addressed at the symposium. Our discussions at ASGCT reinforced an important point: China IITs can offer significant advantages for the right programs — including faster startup timelines, strong patient access, and experienced CGT investigators — but success depends heavily on realistic planning, experienced local execution, and early alignment with sites and regulators.

It was great connecting with biotech innovators, investigators, CDMOs, and partners throughout the meeting. We appreciate the open and thoughtful discussions around the opportunities and challenges of global CGT development.
